New Canaan's Art in the Windows is LIVE!

"Art in the Windows", the Carriage Barn Arts Center’s annual exhibit in New Canaan storefronts is open and 100 pieces of artwork will be displayed in the windows now through June 18.  Organized in partnership with the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce, the exhibit pairs the work of local artists with participating retailers throughout town.

Art in the Windows is the only exhibit organized by the New Canaan Society for the Arts outside of the Carriage Barn, and is designed to highlight the many artists who live and work in our community.  This year's theme is “Celebrating our Creative Community”.  All pieces are for sale, with 50% of the proceeds benefiting the Carriage Barn.  Guides with maps will be available downtown and on carriagebarn.org Text a photo of the art to 203-200-0131 to buy.

On Friday June 11th there will be a downtown celebration event from 5-7pm at the corner of Elm Street and South Avenue. Stop by our pop-up gallery, enjoy some free family 'art bar' activities and the artist showcase, take part in a community art project, and be entertained with live music by Acoustic Quarantine.  In addition to the activity downtown there will be seasonal wine tastings at New Canaan Wine Merchants, Red Grape and Stewart's Wines.

Several local businesses are supporting this year’s exhibit as sponsors including Hutchinson Tree Care Specialists, Inc and New Canaan Board of Realtors.  For more information contact the Carriage Barn Arts Center at 203-594-3638 or click here.

Come and help celebrate New Canaan and our creative community through this annual showcase of art in New Canaan stores!
