Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT WriteStrong!
Three questions with Betsy Allen-Magratten, founder of WriteStrong.
Why did you start your business?
I started WriteStrong because I saw a niche market that only I could fit! I am a writing coach who works well with ages 9-99, teaching creative writing strategies, AND anxiety relief surrounding public speaking and performing. I have a unique masters in writing and voice pedagogy from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
What is your best-selling product/service?
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
I use the libraries of Fairfield County! My favorite meet-up spots, for sure. I love the small New Canaan. coffee shops, like Dolce and Rosie to sit and write. I also recommend books to buy at Elm Street Books, Barrett’s Books, and Booksy Galore, weekly.
The above mentioned are my favorite haunts, and I highly recommend them!
