Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
Three questions with Casey Potetz, founder of Casey Potetz Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine.
Why did you start your business?
I never planned to start an acupuncture practice in New Canaan. I was visiting from Hawaii, where I spend the previous 5 years, and just fell in love with this town. There is a need for my healing work services here, which made it easy to start practicing.
I work with all kinds of pain and physical ailments, and my sessions are deeply relaxing, gentle, and connected to the lineage teachings I was fortunate to receive.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
I've been able to collaborate with New Canaan Racquet Club, Restore Massage, Matrix Personalized Medicine, Gates, The Roger Sherman, and a few local charities. Other business owners in New Canaan have been warm, welcoming, and excited about what I'm offering.
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
Yes! I've been expanding in ways that still surprise me. Since the pandemic, I've taken a more intimate role in my patients' lives, offering to coach and consulting, zoom meditations, classes, and workshops, and I just returned from a spiritual retreat in Peru! I'm excited about bringing this beautiful medicine in all its different forms to the wonderful people of New Canaan.
Casey would like to nominate Stacey-Jo Murray, owner of Rejive Medical Aesthetics to be featured next!
