The Carriage Barn Arts Center leadership recently welcomed key supporters to the gallery for a tour of the recently completed renovation project.
Increased community participation and interest in expanded programming led to significant improvements to the historic facility. The project included the addition of a multi-purpose room to be used for education programs and community gatherings, new ADA-compliant bathrooms, an enlarged lobby and reception area, and the addition of air conditioning throughout the gallery.
The New Canaan Society for the Arts, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has operated the Carriage Barn Arts Center in the town-owned building since 1977. The gallery is open to the public and presents 8-10 annual art exhibitions, concerts, workshops and lectures, family programs and special events. The current annual photography show was juried by PLATON and is open through February 19.
