‘Art in the Windows’ The Carriage Barn Art Center’s annual exhibit in New Canaan storefronts will open on June 3.
Merrill Lynch Wealth Management is the presenting sponsor of Art In the Windows and a display of art will also be featured at their building on the corner of Park and Pine Street as part of this year’s exhibit.
Organized in partnership with the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce, this community exhibit pairs the work of local artists with participating retailers throughout town. Over 100 pieces of artwork will be displayed in store windows through June 18.
The Carriage Barn is excited to host the first ever Downtown New Canaan Arts Festival on Saturday June 4th from 10am-4pm (rain date 6/11) at the corner of Elm Street and South Avenue.
For this free community event we have partnered with many community organizations and businesses; the program will feature live music by Acoustic Quarantine, School of Rock New Canaan Music and will also include artists demonstrations and workshops.
There will be a chalk art challenge, and Mr Bungles will entertain the kids with a comedy show and huge bubbles at 1pm. cARTie, CT’s non profit mobile art museum will be open for visitors in the afternoon from 2.30-4. Come and listen to local musicians, support local talent and enjoy the entertainment!
