Join us at Kiwanis Park to celebrate Harry Potter’s Birthday! Bring a bathing suit to swim and enjoy the park! We will have many activities–start on one activity, then circulate on to the next. Feel free to come dressed up! Best for families with kids in grades K-5th.

Find our Teen event for grades 6th and up here.
Thursday 8/18 @ 3:00 PM (Waitlist only)

Join us outside the front of the library for Small and Spooky, where we will read stories and explore with fun, hands-on activities. Each class will explore a different spooky-ish theme through science and art! This program is intended for children ages 4 to 6 years.
Drop-in Saturday Family Crafternoons
Are you feeling crafty and creative? Come to the Children’s Program Room to make a fun and easy craft the whole family can enjoy. Design your very own monster or creature and earn your Creature from the Book Lagoon badge!
Drop-in Maker Mornings
Our project stations this month will incorporate secret codes and puzzles into art projects!

Projects are intended for families with children ages 6+. Children under 8 will need their adult’s help with the projects. This program is drop-in and no registration is needed. Plan on spending 15-45 minutes on the projects.
Tuesday-Thursday 8/2-8/4 @ 3:30 PM

Are you a budding writer entering Grades 1 to 3 in Fall 2022? Join Miss Rebecca for a three-day MysterREAD-themed storytelling–and story writing–extravaganza! We’ll play games to get imaginations flowing, then put ideas to paper in creative ways. Please plan to attend for all three days (August 2, 3, and 4), as the sessions will build on one another.
Wednesday & Thursday 8/10 & 8/11 @ 3:30-5:00 PM

Join author/illustrator Jason Deeble for a two-day Graphic Novel Writing Camp. Deep dive into character design and page layout, then learn how to plot your story using thumbnails. This program is intended for children entering grades 4-6 in Fall 2022. Please plan to join us both days (3:30-5 p.m. August 10 and 11), as sessions build on each other.
