"State of Mind" an exhibition of Collages by Dunia Barrera will open at the Carriage Barn in the Annex gallery 5-6.30pm on Friday, September 1.
This exhibition comprises collages on paper and wood collage objects illustrating the duality and communication of our daily lives. This is Dunia’s first US solo exhibition.
Since 2021, Barrera (born in 1979, based in Munich Germany and New Canaan, Connecticut) has been working the concept of the perceived reality and the messages we receive willingly and unwillingly.
Her photography background has had a strong influence on her way of seeing and composing, as demonstrated by the persistent use of monochromatic images.
