Information regarding August 9 Primary for New Canaan voters

This year’s Primary on August 9th will be the first election in New Canaan to be run with six districts.

Most voters should be unaffected by this change. Voters who will experience a change in voting venue have been informed by letter two months ago. Please refer to the letter sent to you by this office; however, it is highly recommended that before you set out to the polls, you review the map and street index here.

* District One voters will vote at New Canaan High School.

* District Two and Three voters will vote at Saxe Middle School;

* District 4, 5 and 6 voters will vote at East School.

Polls open at 6:00 AM and remain open until 8:00 PM

When arriving at your polling place, make sure to reconfirm that you are indeed at the proper place with the greeter at the door before entering the check-off lines.

There will be two separate check-off lines for Democrats and Republicans.  Please enter the line for YOUR party!

Unaffiliated voters who are not members of the Democratic or Republican parties should not come to the polls on that day so as to avoid needless confusion and delays.
