The New Canaan Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training course starts on October 23, 2019
This program helps train and equip citizens to be better prepared to help themselves and their neighbors in the event of a disaster, crisis or common emergency and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks. Through CERT, the capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters is built and enhanced.
The fall course consists of six sessions in New Canaan.
Saturdays, 8 AM to noon: Oct 26, Nov 9
Pre-registration is required. This is offered at no charge to residents. Location to be determined. Please visit the CERT website at www.newcanaancert.org to enroll for the course and email any questions you may have to certleader@newcanaancert.org
