Julia's Wings Foundation Receives Donation from the Patterson Rotary

Julia's Wings Foundation was among 31 charities to receive a cash donation from The Rotary Club of Patterson this past Tuesday, February 13. The ‘Valentine’s Giveaway’ is one of two semi-annual Community Awards Giveaways held in February and June by the Rotary Club of Patterson.

Past Club President and Presenter for the event, Anthony Molé, expressed how fortunate we are in our community, to have such organizations and charities who do their best to help those in need.

Doris and Monty Clark (Julia’s grandparents) who reside in Sherman, CT, gratefully accepted the donation.

The Julia’s Wings Foundation (JWF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission of honoring Julia Malsin by providing assistance to families of children with the life threatening hematological diseases; aplastic anemia, MDS and PNH, raising awareness of these diseases, and funding medical research. JWF was established in 2013 by Mike, Heather and Alyssa Malsin in loving memory of their daughter and big sister who passed away after a year long battle against aplastic anemia, which is a rare bone marrow failure disease.

”Our hope is that with continued research and funding, one child’s life may be saved and one family will not have to endure the pain and suffering that aplastic anemia brought into our lives,” explains Heather Malsin, Julia's mother.
