Women's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield Helps Eliminate Hunger

The Woman’s Club of Danbury/New Fairfield has hit the ground running for the 2019-20 season. Consistent with our umbrella organization, the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of CT, Inc., WCDNF is working to help eliminate hunger in our communities. Club member Nancy Coraggio presented a check for $2,000 to an appreciative Casey Levene, V.P. of Community Impact for United Way of Western Connecticut. The funds came from the efforts of the club’s Community Improvement Program, chaired by Janet Jabieski and Nancy Coraggio, to combat hunger. The money will be used for The Lady in the Van, a program run by Kerri Colombo. Ms. Colombo picks up over 3,000 lbs. of surplus groceries per week from local stores and delivers them to food pantries daily to feed hungry children and adults in the Danbury area.
