Dog of the Week

Hank is a sweet 10 year old hound from South Carolina who is longing to find his forever home. He is easygoing and wants to please everyone he meets! He enjoys his nature walks and loves a warm blanket to curl up in.

The mission of the New Fairfield/Sherman Animal Welfare Society, Inc. is to offer refuge, medical care, and the opportunity for a second chance for life to needy dogs and cats; to protect animals from cruelty or neglect; to foster a public sentiment of humanity and gentleness toward all living creatures; to encourage and promote responsible pet ownership; and to reduce companion animal overpopulation through humane education and spay/neuter advocacy.

So many animals are in need of loving homes and we have been very lucky to have the opportunity to help save them from an uncertain fate.  Although we are small and in a more rural area, we were able to find wonderful homes for 138 animals this year.
Many times the dogs and cats are in dire need of medical care, need medications, need spay/neuter surgery, and routine shots.  All of this is costly even with a veterinary discount.  Please consider making a monetary donation to help us save more!  For the cost of 2 cups of coffee we can provide preventative shots for one dog.  If every person in our area & network donated just $10 this season would be able keep rescuing  and caring for those who cannot fend for themselves.  NFSAW is located at:
