Support Connection Virtual Benefit Ready to Go

Support Connection, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that provides free support services to those affected by breast and ovarian cancer, announces that their Annual Benefit, a virtual event this year, will take place on Friday, August 28, from 7 – 8 pm (NY time). The link to preview the event, or to join in that evening, is https://support.onlinegalas.com. Everyone is welcome, no registration is required.

The Annual Benefit is Support Connection’s second most important annual fundraiser. Proceeds help fund their  free breast and ovarian cancer services and programs. This year’s event will be a beautiful hour of celebration, featuring the presentation of Support Connection’s Annual Spirit Awards, honoring those who demonstrate dedication to the organization’s mission by providing inspiration, time, talent and other resources. There will also be an online auction, a digital Journal, a special performance by the Golden Apple Chorus, and announcement of the grand prize raffle winners. Bidding for the online auction will begin on August 20.

This year’s Spirit Award recipients are:

Somers Women’s Club (Somers, NY), Maria Rubino Jennings Spirit Of Caring Award: Presented in honor and memory of Maria who helped create Support Connection’s Peer Counseling program and other services. Like Maria, the recipient has made a positive difference in many lives through the power of caring.

Diane Buschel (Yorktown Heights, NY) and the Golden Apple Chorus, Spirit Of Community Award. Presented to individuals and groups whose efforts and actions make a huge difference to Support Connection and the community.

Nancy Stingone (Yorktown Heights, NY), Spirit Of Giving Award: Presented to those who give of themselves in extraordinary ways to further Support Connection’s mission.

Barbara Lichtenberger (Peekskill, NY) and Debra Wolf (Granite Springs, NY), Julie Haney Spirit Of Hope Awards: Presented to individuals who offer inspiration to fellow cancer survivors, as Julie did. They have taken their own experiences and translated them into an opportunity to raise awareness about Support Connection’s mission.
