New Fairfield Senior Center July Events

New Fairfield Senior Center (33 Route 37 in New Fairfield) has some amazing events planned for July!  

The mission of the Center is to provide opportunities for enrichment and interaction for adults  above the age of 60 in an  atmosphere of  support and  respect and to maximize a sense of well  being and health through participation in  activities at the Center and in the  community.

Line Dancing: Monday, July 13th, 20th, 27th1:00 pm

Line Dancing is making a huge come back. It’s lots of fun too! Learn how to line dance. No need to sit out line dancing anymore. If you can walk, you can Line Dance. 6 weeks for $36.

Retirement and Final Expenses: Monday, July13th, 1pm

Please join us in welcoming Bankers Life for an informative Insurance Planning Seminar .  The topic will be Final Expenses (Survivors Income). There are over 40 decisions that loved ones have to make during a bereavement period and most of which impact their finances without a plan in place. Being a burden to your family is the number one concern when it comes to Final Expense Planning. This is an informative setting and Bankers Life products will not be sold at any time during the seminar. 

AARP Safe Driving: Wednesday, July 15th at 8:30 am

Reevaluate your driving skills and learn a few tips from AARP’s trained volunteer. The course costs only $15. Under state insurance regulations, when you complete the course, you receive a certificate that entitles drivers over 60 to a reduced rate on insurance. Payment with a check made out to AARP is required at the time of registration.

Japanese Flower Arranging with Yumiko: Thursday, July 16th at 1:30

Come join Yumiko Flaherty as she instructs you on Japanese Flower arranging and go home with a stunning arrangement. $20 if you supply your own dish otherwise $25.

Discussion Group with Kathy: Thursday, July 16th 2:00 pm

We’ll start with an issue that’s been in the news and examine the pros and cons in relation to your opinions. We look forward to exploring and sharing thoughts.

Flavio Ribeiro Complimentary Holistic Healing: Friday, July 17th, starts at 10am

Terry Lent: Berries: Berry, Berry Good for You: Thursday, July 23rd, 1:00 pm

Foot Reflexology Appointments with Kim Stewart: Monday July 27th 10-12pm 

Reflexology reduces stress, promotes relaxation, improves circulation of oxygen and nutrients, also detoxifies and cleanses the body.  Kim Stewart, nationally certified reflexologist, provides MONTHLY one-on-one therapy appointments.  Learn how to improve your health with this holistic technique. Since this is partly funded by the Friends of the NFSC, you may sign up for a 20-minute appt. for only $15.

Red Hat Luncheon: Tuesday, July 28 1pm

TheSunshine Rambling Roses is the only New Fairfield officially registered chapter of the Red Hat Society. We are holding out our red-gloved hands and inviting you to join us at our next monthly luncheon, signup required.
