2nd Annual Comedy Night April 7

2nd Annual Comedy Night at the JCC in Sherman

The JCC in Sherman will be hosting a laugh-out-loud comedy show led by comedian, Steve Bennett. Steve is a long time resident of both New York City and Sherman. A lawyer, he began performing as a stand up comedian four years ago, under the stage name "Steve Carl." Steve is a native Minnesotan, whose humor tends toward the observational (ask him about mystery meat at a church picnic) with forays into politics and current events.

For this amazing Comedy Show to benefit the JCC in Sherman, Steve has assembled a group of his compatriots in comedy. The lineup will include Jason Chatfield, Dave Hess, Caitlin Peluffo, Neil Rubenstein, Narinder Singh and Abby Washuta. Jason Chatfield is convinced his Australian accent might be a birth defect.  He’s an accomplished cartoonist.  His “Move On Up” podcast is also available on the web. Dave Hess kinda looks like the Unabomber in a cable knit sweater.  He’s (mostly) harmless. Judith George is a Canadian with an imaginary friend. Neil Rubenstein manages a dance club (which, sadly, does not serve kreplachs).  On his drive-ins from the Island, he records (and podcasts on his “In Traffic” site) hilarious phone calls with friends. Narinder Singh: Don’t call him “Osama.”  No; really; don’t.  Abby Washuta, Is she, or is she not, your former Sorority Sister from college?

Join us on Saturday, April 7th at 7:00 PM for a comedic event you won’t forget. Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. The refreshments are BYOB picnic style for general seating . Pre-paid registration required by Wednesday, April 4th. Please reserve online at jccinsherman.org or call/email us at 860.355.8050 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
