Treat yourself (and your mom) to the Hudson Valley Wine and Chocolate Festival

Hudson Valley Wine and Chocolate Festival

Partners with PARC is hosting it’s bi-annual Hudson Valley Wine and Chocolate Festival this weekend. A few tickets are still available for May 6th which is held at Patterson Recreation 65 Front St, Patterson, NY. On top of being a phenomenal event filled with wine sampling, food tasting, vendors and food trucks, all proceeds benefit the regional non-profit that is raising funds to support children and adults with developmental disabilities.

The event features the opportunity to sip, sample, and shop directly from Hudson Valley and other New York State wineries, craft distillers, craft beer and hard cider makers. Attendees enjoy dozens of products including candy and confections, fine foods, crafts, health and beauty products, and more.

“I like to come here because it is a great experience, where you can get a taste of a lot of local businesses that we don’t get to see in Yonkers,” explains attendee AnnaRosa. Her friend, Yvette exclaimed, “I love meeting people! I spoke to a lot of vendors and learned so much.”

With almost 100 vendors, there was plenty to see, taste and sample. One of the vendors was Harvest Spirit Farm Distillery from Valatie, NY. They specialize in apple-based spirits such as vodka, gin, applejack and specialty brandies.  “We come here because it is a great opportunity to share our beautiful products and be with so many other wonderful vendors,” explains Sherwood Ludwig, “Best of all we get to serve some of our local and loyal customers here.”

Aldo Carpenter and Jorge Ferreira, are cousins and owners of Ferreira-Carpenter Winery are based in Warwick, NY. They offered a variety of white and red homemade wines. Many vendors came from all over NY state including Adirondack Winery from Lake George, NY where they have three tasting rooms in their area. Their wines reflect the beautiful Adirondack region, including Prospect Mountain White, which is a Peach Infused Semi-Sweet White Wine, named after one of the most beautiful landmarks in their area. If you ever visit Lake George, grab a bottle and head up to Prospect Mountain! Aerialist Robin Lynch poured wine in the most unique way ever!

Chocolate, cheese, and dessert vendors offered samples. A variety of food trucks lined the outside of Patterson Rec. The choices were plentiful and varied.

It is Kentucky Derby weekend, so some guests got into the spirit and came dressed in their stylish hats and attire to win prizes.  “What an amazing weekend for a great event for Mom’s timeout and Mother’s Day shopping,” stated Coordinator of Hudson Valley Wine and Chocolate Festival, Jami Hanson, “The turnout today was spectacular, the hats were amazing, the vendor have gotten into the Kentucky Derby spirit with decorated booths while selling and providing samples of their products.” She encourages people to come by and enjoy the event tomorrow, Sunday, May 6th.
