Preserve New Fairfield Hold 2018 Strawberry Festival

Preserve New Fairfield held its 2018 Strawberry Festival at the New Fairfield Senior Center this past Sunday June 10, 2018. The group is a non profit organization which relies on donations and fundraisers to maintain historic buildings, structures and artifacts in town. The festival attracted people from all over the immediate area where they toured the historic museum houses behind the center and did a bit of shopping at the vendor area where local artists and jewelers peddled their wares. The attendees could also purchase strawberry shortcake and drinks and sit and listen to the sounds of the New Fairfield High School Jazz band and the acoustic styling of Joe Krzyzewski. There also face painting by local students.

Preserve New Fairfield’s mission is to preserve, protect, and maintain local historic structures and artifacts. The organization has established a site where some of these structures serve as local history museums. For more information on Preserve New Fairfield, visit their website
