Join us in celebration of Israel's 70th birthday on Sunday, November 4, 2018 for an Israeli Film Fest.

The day includes movies, speakers, live entertainment, snacks, chances to win and prizes. Event sponsored by the United Jewish Center Danbury, Connecticut through the generous donation of the Robert S. Young Fund.

  • Location: The Palace Theatre Danbury. 165 Main Street, Danbury.

  • Free parking in the lot behind the theatre on Keeler Street.

1:30 movie: Heading Home: The Tale of Team Israel

A stirring sports story that charts the underdog journey of Israel’s national baseball team competing for the first time in the World Baseball Classic. This is a full length family film. Alex Katz, a player from Team Israel and professional baseball left-handed pitcher in the Baltimore Orioles organization will speak and take questions after the movie.

4:30 movie: Shelter

Two women find themselves trapped in a labyrinth of deception, paranoia and intrigue in this Israeli spy thriller. Adult content. Dalit Katz, Director of Jewish Studies and founder of the annual Israeli Film Festival at Wesleyan University, will introduce Shelter, and will be available for questions after the film.

 

Before and after the movies: live entertainment, snacks and chances to win.

Ticket pricing:

  • Children $9 (12 and under, must be accompanied by a paid adult)

  • Adults $18 (each movie)

  • Full day pass $36 includes one adult ticket to each movie, one popcorn and one "chance to win" ticket

Names will be included in the event program if paid by October 27, 2018. Donations do not include movie tickets.
