New Fairfield Lions Club’s Classic Car & Truck Show on Sunday, October 13 at Squantz Pond State Park

New Fairfield Lions Club’s Classic Car & Truck Show on Sunday, October 13 at Squantz Pond

The calendar has turned to October, pumpkins and scarecrows are everywhere and the weather is starting to cool off. All the trees around Candlewood Lake and Squantz Pond are filled with beautiful fall colors. This makes the perfect setting for the 27th Annual New Fairfield Lions Club Vintage-Classic & Custom Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show at Squantz Pond State Park. Come to Squantz Pond this Sunday, October 13th to see hundreds of classic cars, trucks and motorcycles of many different makes, models and years. The gates open at 9:00am and viewing begins at 10:00 am. Registration from 9am to 11:30am. Judging will take from 12:30pm to 2pm. All Trophies will be awarded from 3 to 4pm. There will be trophies awarded for 1st & 2nd Place in each class. Trophies will also be awarded to the vehicles that traveled the Longest Distance to participate and to the Best Car Club Representation and of course, the President’s Choice Award. (In the event of rain, the car show’s Rain Date is scheduled for October 20th).
Food and Refreshments will be available for purchase at the Lions Club Food Tent and a variety of other vendors will have their goods on display for you to view and purchase as well.
Every year, it is fun to see the many familiar faces of car owners, and spectators alike, that come from all over the State of Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts and even some from points farther.
The Car Show is the 2nd largest fundraiser of the New Fairfield Lions Club and all the net proceeds are redirected back into the many programs, organizations, and charities that we sponsor in New Fairfield and the Greater Danbury area. The New Fairfield Lions Club sponsors events for the Senior Citizens, Pediatric Eye Screening, CRIS Radio for the hearing impaired, Scholarships for High School Seniors, the Boy Scouts of America, and several other youth and sports organizations. We are also the proud sponsors of our young Lions in our Middle School and High School, the New Fairfield Leos Club.
The New Fairfield Lions Club is helping to restock the Food Pantry in New Fairfield. If you would like to help us, please bring any non-perishable foods, that you would like to donate, with you to the Car Show. It would be greatly appreciated.
We hope that you will come out and support the New Fairfield Lions Club and make all the owners of these beautiful vehicles know that people enjoy seeing the fruits of their labor in maintaining or restoring these beautiful vehicles. As always, if you or someone you know enjoys helping others in need and enjoys giving back to the community, then the Lions Club is for you! Feel free to ask any of our Lions Club members to invite you to attend one of our events or dinner meetings. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm at Biscotti’s Restaurant in New Fairfield, CT. We will have a membership and information table at the Car Show for you to visit and to view “What We Do For You In New Fairfield”.
