Kids' Winter Ecology Series: A Trip Back to the Last Ice Age

A Trip Back to the Last Ice Age
Saturday, January 11th, 1:00 - 3:30 pm

In this next installment of our kids’ Winter Ecology series, we’ll travel back in time to Connecticut’s prehistoric past and discover the incredible power of ice! During the last ice age, mighty glaciers covered all of the state, breaking down rocks and carving out the valleys that we all call home today. We’ll venture out into the icy landscape and explore the effects of ice on the natural world. We’ll go on a hike and geology scavenger hunt, and collect different types of rocks that hold the secrets to glacial activity from thousands of years ago! Then we will head indoors to warm up while we conduct some icy experiments, play games, and decorate our rocks. This is a drop-off program open to children ages 5-10. Registration is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Please email Maggie at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to sign up.
