Spring Hike ("Mud Walk") at the Pawling Nature Preserve

Meet at the Pawling Nature Preserve 's Sprague Road entrance before the 9:00 a.m. hike start.  Hike will last 3 - 4 hours.  Dress for the weather and wear good hiking shoes/boots as the trails could be muddy from the Spring thaw.  Bring your own drinks and snacks. No dogs allowed. Practice good tick-bite prevention (repellents, light colored clothing, long sleeves, pant legs tucked into socks).  Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 9am. Rain date: April 17 (Easter)

Highlights:  Second-growth oak woodland dominate, accompanied by swamps, red maple forests, fields and hemlock forests. Along the gorge sides, you will see unusual plants such as walking fern, maidenhair spleenwort and hobblebush.
