New Year’s Day Concert For Peace 2023

Start your new year at a peaceful gathering with music, poetry readings and camaraderie at this popular event. Join musicians Philip Anderson, tenor; Robert Zubrycki, violin; Anik Oulianine, cello; Jenifer Tao, piano; Paul Staroba, piano, and our readers, Phyllis Polonkay, George Joiner and Rebecca Rabinowitz.

We will perform classical, Broadway, and seasonal favorites, interspersed with a wide variety of poetry. The event will include a special tribute to Don Pippin, the famed Broadway Musical Director and former Brewster resident, as well as several Stephen Sondheim songs. Jennifer and Paul will highlight the Coalition’s two pianos with the slow movement from Mozart’s Sonata for Two Pianos.

Violinist Robert Zubrycki is the Director of the Concerts Around the Corner series. Robert and his colleagues are active performers at major venues in the NY region, performing extensively for Broadway, Ballet, and Symphonies, including the American Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Lumos, New York City Chamber Orchestra, City Ballet, and American Ballet Theater. They have participated in Grammy, Tony and Emmy Award winning productions. Mr. Anderson performs in choirs, as a soloist and recently was in the Philip Glass opera Einstein on the Beach world tour. Ms. Tao is on the piano faculty at Princeton University.

There is a suggested donation of $10. As seating is very limited, please reserve seating by signing up below. As per current COVID guidelines, our event does require masks.
