Longtime New Fairfield newspaper the Citizen News is in new hands! Congratulations to new owners Kate Mattiace and Marylou Schirmer! Please read the note below written by Kate and Marylou and posted on their newly launched Facebook Page.
We are delighted to announce our recent acquisition of the Citizen News and the launch of our new name, the Town Tribune. Our final Citizen News will come out on March 24th and the first Town Tribune will be in your mailbox on March 31st.
The Town Tribune will be serving the residents of New Fairfield and Sherman in the same manner in which they have grown accustomed, delivered free weekly to all residents of New Fairfield and Sherman and to our out of area subscribers. You can rest assured the quality and convenience of your free weekly newspaper will remain the same.
Having been with our towns’ newspaper for 18 years and 4 years respectively, and as active members of our community, we are confident that this transfer will be a positive one for our readers, advertisers, and community.
We are looking forward to the positive changes to come with Town Tribune and thank you very much for being a loyal advertisers, readers, and supporters of our community’s local newspaper.
The launch of our Facebook page is a first step in modernizing the local newspaper you have grown accustomed to and, in the coming year, we intend to continue to factor in your suggestions to make our newspaper better every week.
