Ralph C. Langham, Commander NFVA will be the Master of Ceremonies at New Fairfield's Memorial Day Ceremony
Ralph C. Langham, Commander New Fairfield Veterans Association (NFVA) will be the Master of Ceremonies at New Fairfield's Veteran's Ceremony, an event he describes metaphorically as a very solemn ceremony.
Langham has proudly been part of this heartfelt salute to Veterans for the past century. "I am not too sure of how long we have been doing this ceremony, but it surely goes back to the last century," explains Langham.
The event will include laying of the wreaths and prayer. "Those on the the old memorial will have a wreath placed there. The High School CAP will be given flowers by the NFVA to place them on Sgt. T.J. Labraico's monument," says Langham.
The patriotic ceremony will begin promptly at 11 on Memorial Day, May 30th. "Those attending can expect to meet some real heros, not those who are glorified in the movies," says Langham. The ceremony is expected to be over by noon.
Will there be a flyover? Langham is hopeful. "We are trying for a fly-over but will not know until later in the week."
