Ann M. Schurhammer, chef and owner of Rosemary’s Basil, is a personal chef. She’s found success and a mission because for her, it is personal. “When my father was ill, I didn’t live close enough to bring my parents the meals that would have been so helpful to them. That’s why I am concentrating on meal delivery, doing for customers now what I could not personally do then.
“My goal is to not only serve those who want a quality, home-delivered meal, but those who may need a meal— those housebound or unwell, seniors or caregivers and those who don’t want to or can’t cook for one or two anymore and so their healthy eating, and overall health, suffers. My meals are made fresh daily, offering generous portions and using local and organic ingredients for the best flavor and nutrition and value. They are affordably priced, especially helpful for those on fixed incomes, with free local delivery. My mission: to bring good eating home.”
And good eating, it is. Chef Ann started her culinary career as a young child helping her Italian grandmother make the meatballs & sauce every Sunday. When her mom started working, Ann began preparing the evening meals. She parlayed that into a career, graduating from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America. She has been as a personal chef for the past 12 years working in NYC, Southampton and West Palm Beach. Before that she worked in some of the most exclusive private country clubs in Massachusetts and New York. She also donates many hours to cooking for charities and fundraisers, as she very much enjoys giving back to the community.
Rosemary’s Basil delivers free locally within 20 miles of Brewster, including lower Dutchess and upper Westchester counties, and nearby Connecticut. Customers have the option to order occasionally or arrange for regularly scheduled meal delivery service (special discounted pricing for ordering 10+ regularly scheduled meals). The menu changes weekly, offering delicious choices of beef, fish, chicken, pork, soup/salad, dinner bowl, and vegetarian meals.
