Fire Takes New Fairfield Home - Family Safe

The New Fairfield Department responded Saturday afternoon on a report of a generator close to residents on fire at 27 Llyod ave. A firefighter that was at Ball Pond firehouse grabbed an extinguisher and responded down the street and saw that the fire was much worse. Most of the home was already fully involved. Fire crews quickly deployed hose lines and met some difficult issues with propane tanks leaking, down power lines and getting around neighborhood due to recent storm. All the occupants were out of the home before the fire department arrived.

Firefighters from New Fairfield, Putnam Lake, Sherman & Danbury all came in to assist. Big shout out to all the neighbors residents who came out to help us drag fire hose, move cars and bringing us equipment. An investigation by the state fire marshal is still ongoing for exact cause.
Again thank you to all the residents who came out of there homes to help us out during this hard week we all been having. Glad to see my neighbors all get together to help someone else. Proud to be a Ball Pond resident and firefighter for our town.
