Danbury Library to host AARP seminar for those over 50 seeking employment

Are you over the age of 50 and looking for a job?  The Danbury Library has enlisted the help of AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) to conduct their popular seminar, "Navigating the Job Search at 50+: Tips & Tools for Job Searching in the Digital Age."  The program will be held on Wednesday, November 14th from 1:30-3:30 pm in the Library's Farioly Program Room.

The average length of unemployment for 55+ job seekers is about 50 weeks, compared to 34 weeks for younger jobseekers. Anyone looking for a job or seeking to change careers knows the difficulty of finding fulfilling work. This interactive seminar will highlight the evolution of the job search, share online job search resources and tools, and showcase the power of personal branding. The tips and tools provided will invigorate a job search and help you prioritize where to focus your time and energies.

The program is free of charge. AARP will complete a registration upon each participant's arrival.  The Danbury Library is located at 170 Main Street, Danbury, CT.  For questions, contact Maryellen DeJong at mdejong@danburylibrary.org or call 203-797-4505, ext. 7730.
