New Fairfield Lions Club Installs New Officers for 2019-2020

The New Fairfield Lions Club installed their New Officers for the Lionistic Year of 2019-2020 on Sunday, June 23 at Black Angus in Danbury, CT. Over 50 Lions members and guests attended. President Mark Lamanna passed "The Gavel" to the incoming New Fairfield Lions Club's President, Errol Arne. Lions District 23-A's Second Vice District Governor, Lori-Ann Beninson, installed all of the officers. President Mark Lamanna handed out Awards and Certificates to all the chair people who helped coordinate Lions Club's events throughout the year. The highest honor given by the New Fairfield Lions Club to one of its members is the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. The MJF Program was established in 1973 by Lions Clubs International, and since then, only a few members of the New Fairfield Lions Club have received this distinguished honor. At this year's installation, the New Fairfield Lions Club honored two of their members with the Melvin Jones Fellowship. Lion Lori-Ann Beninson and Lion Regine Lambrech received this great honor. Both Lori and Reggie have worked tirelessly over the years chairing events and serving our community. They were also the first women, in the New Fairfield Lions Club, to receive this great honor.

The New Fairfield Lions Club would like to Thank all who participated in last week's Annual Lions July 4th Parade. It was a great day to honor America and to honor and "Remember All Those Who Serve" so we may live free. Also, a big special Thank You to the Culligan Water Company for providing Free Cold Water to all those who attended the parade. New Fairfield Lions Club BBQ'd over 300 Hot Dogs which were given out for free to all those who participated and attended the Lions July 4th Parade.

The New Fairfield Lions Club's next event is the NEW FAIRFIELD LIONS CLUB's CARNIVAL, which runs from Tuesday, July 16th through Saturday, July 20th from 6:30pm to 10:30pm at the Consolidated School Field off Gillotti Road in New Fairfield
