Barbato “Bob” Biasetti, Longtime New Fairfield Resident, Passes Away.

Barbato “Bob” Biasetti, 89, a long time resident of New Fairfield CT, passed away peacefully August 3, 2019 during his brief stay at St.John Paul Health Care, Danbury, surrounded by his family and friends.
Bob was born in Norwalk, CT on July 26, 1930. He attended Norwalk High School and then voluntarily enlisted into the Army where he fought in the Korean War and was recognized for his heroic achievement with several service medals. After serving in the Army he moved back to Norwalk and met his lovely soon to be bride Marge Chetta and have been married for 61 years. His main career was working for the U.S postal service retiring in 1992.
Bob was a member of Saint Edward the Confessor Church of New Fairfield. As a former baseball coach, Bob loved volunteering for the kids in New Fairfield and was one of the original coaches of the Babe Ruth baseball League.
Bob was the son of Gilbert and Mary (DiScala) Biasetti. Bob is survived by his loving wife Marge of 61 years, his three sons , Gilbert (Laurie) of Brookfield ,Nick (Robyn) of New Fairfield and Anthony (Hope) of Newtown;
Three daughters, Marie Biasetti of Brookfield, Carmela Johnson of New Fairfield and Sue Lamers (Markus) of Nyack, NY, son in law, Jim Menard of Clarence NY. a brother, Edward(Yvette) of Norwalk; two sisters Evelyn (Mario) DiLorenzo and Madeline (Joe) DiGrigoli all of Florida.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his beloved daughter Rosalie Menard; three brothers, John, Albert and Frank Biasetti and by
four sisters, Angie Bua, Carol Marabella, Flo Marrone and Mary Cable.
He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, many nieces and nephews and many friends.
Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Bob had a heart of gold and touched many lives. He will be greatly missed but his legacy will carry on.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, CT.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield with military honors.
The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
