Moonlight Cafe Recognized by NY State Senate with Empire Award

New York State Senator Pete Harckham made a quick trip to Brewster yesterday to award a New York State Senate Empire Award to Dawn and Neil Hirsch, the owners of Moonlight Café & Caterers. "Neil and Dawn held fundraisers in their parking lot to raise money to make several hundred meals for local nursing home and other health care workers. Their support of the community is inspiring!" the Senator said on his Facebook Page.

Moonlight Cafe provided hundreds of meals to local nursing homes and hospital workers along with first responder throughout out the first months of the current pandemic. Owner Neil Hirsch said “It was an honor to provide meals to those who are in need and those that serve the community. Despite the hardship of the lockdown, Moonlight Cafe and Catering was joined in their efforts to provide for the community by several civic organizations such as the NY Riders who also continued to provide much needed relief to the community and continues to do so with socially distant fundraisers at their location across from the Borden Bridge in Brewster.
