Registration OPEN for Fairfield County Giving Day!

Registration is now open for nonprofits to participate in Fairfield County’s Giving Day 2022 — the 9th-annual fundraising day that connects local organizations with community members who are looking to make a difference.

The 24-hour online fundraising drive — powered by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation and generously supported by champion sponsor Bank of America — is scheduled for February 24, 2022. The annual event encourages community members and businesses to come together to support Fairfield County nonprofits.

Since its inception in 2014, Fairfield County’s Giving Day has raised more than $11.5 million for nonprofits in Fairfield County through the contributions of thousands of donors who come together each year to support local causes. In 2021, nearly 400 Fairfield County nonprofits raised more than $2.25 million through contributions by more than 14,000 individuals and families.

“Giving Day helps local nonprofits build their fundraising capacity and makes philanthropy accessible to everyone in Fairfield County,” the Community Foundation’s President and CEO Juanita James said. “It's a great way to engage your family and teach your children the value and importance of giving — and proves that we all have the power to make a difference in our community.”

Fairfield County nonprofits are invited to register for Giving Day 2022 at FCGives.org. The Community Foundation encourages nonprofits to register early to gain special access to online training, tips, and tools that will help them make the most of Giving Day. As an added incentive, nonprofits that register before December 3 will qualify for a discounted registration fee of $35.

The Community Foundation created Giving Day to help Fairfield County nonprofits build their online fundraising capacity, which has taken on added importance for charities in the face of COVID-19. Giving Day has helped many organizations build relationships with new supporters, create valuable partnerships with local businesses and gain access to training and tools that help them raise money throughout the year.

“The impact that Giving Day has on the people and communities we serve is significant,” said Bill Tommins, President, Bank of America, Southern Connecticut. “Our longstanding support of this initiative is rooted in the belief that individuals and businesses can come together and make a difference in the lives of their neighbors. We look forward to serving as champion sponsor for the ninth year running and once again witnessing the power of our community.”

As our region’s largest annual philanthropic event, Giving Day also encourages individuals and families to support local causes. For as little as $10, community members can support Fairfield County nonprofits — in fact, most individuals’ Giving Day contributions are less than $100.

“The Community Foundation invests in Giving Day because it connects closely with our values,” James said. “When we come together as individuals, nonprofits, and businesses to help others, we build a stronger Fairfield County.”
