It's not every day that a small business owner in Fairfield County blankets a page in the New York Times.
Today, Megan Searfoss the owner of Ridgefield Running Company and Darien Running Company (which opened today) appears in the NYT business section in an article titled "Solitary leisure’ is one bright spot on the retail landscape".
Solitary leisure - that's one of the results of COVID - and a healthy one. Searfoss is all about that. It's called running.
"Megan Searfoss, the owner of Ridgefield Running Company, a running store in Ridgefield, Conn., seems to be a beneficiary of the trend. She had made plans earlier this year to expand to Darien, Conn., in time to capitalize on excitement around the Olympics, the New York City Marathon and the high school cross country season," the NYT states.
Today, Thursday, July 16, Searfoss opened her second location on Brook Street in Darien with her "conviction that small businesses have become more appealing amid the pandemic", states the NYT.
