Teens and Tweens Can Make Movies This Summer at Future Filmmakers Camp at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Summer is here and it’s time to make a movie! Hurry to sign up because Future Filmmakers Camp with Katie Torpey begins July 9th! During this ALL DAY (9am-5pm) two-week camp, students will learn how to turn their smartphones into a camera package and make movies at the Ridgefield Playhouse, part of HamletHub Whole New You Series.

Filmmaker Katie Torpey (Truth About Kerry, The Perfect Man, Power Rangers - Wild Force) will teach tweens and teens the fundamentals of filmmaking and visual storytelling using only a smartphone. Campers will watch and analyze movies, receive hands-on instruction in storytelling, writing, directing, editing, camera equipment and lens. In addition, each camper will make their own short film and collaborate with other campers to make a film together. And to top it all off, every camper will get to show their film on the big screen at The Ridgefield Playhouse and leave camp with the knowledge, skills and equipment to go off and make their own films in the future. Limited enrollment!
