A man whose lust for power knows no bounds; his cold, manipulating wife,
a trio of “advisors” who encourage him, an enemy who must confront him
man-to-man. The theme is timeless, just as it was in Scotland in the
15th century. Now, all the passion and vitality of Shakespeare’s
memorable drama is brought to life beginning Friday, Sept. 13 at
Brookfield Theatre. A free preview performance for area seniors will be
given on Thurs., Sept. 12 at 8 p.m.
Called “The Scottish Play” by some in Shakespeare’s day who thought the
play was cursed, it stars David Regelmann as Macbeth, Vicki Sosbe as
Lady Macbeth, Thomas Samuels as Banquo, and Christopher Bird as Macduff.
The large cast includes Molly Badinelli, Sam Bass, Kylie Block, Rebecca
Cebollero, Justin Gaynor, Sean Gorman, Tom Heydenburg, David Jurman,
William Kenyon, Sean Latasa, Peter Lerman, Ron Malyszka, and many others.
Directed by Jane Farnol, a veteran of the American Shakespeare Theatre,
“Macbeth” continues through Saturday, Sept. 28 with shows on Fridays and
Saturdays at 8 p.m. There will be two Sunday matinees at 2pm on Sept. 15
& 22. Tickets are $25 general admission and $20 for students & seniors.
They may be purchased at the box office or online at
