State Police looking for witnesses to crash on I-91

On Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at approximately 1325 hours, members of the Connecticut State Police from Troop H in Hartford began an investigation into a vehicle collision which occurred within the southbound travel lanes of Interstate 91 nearest Exit 44 in the Town of East Windsor. The crash closed bot northbound and southbound lanes to traffic while the investigation continued.

A preliminary investigation indicates the collision involved two Commercial type vehicles. The collision resulted in a turnover event as one of the involved Commercial vehicles crossed over the center median where it caught fire and came to a final rest in the northbound travel lanes.

The crash was reported just before 1:30 p.m. in between exits 44 and 45, a few miles north of the connector for Bradley International Airport and police closed both northbound and southbound lanes of traffic while the investigation continued.

The State Police are seeking to speak with any persons who may have witnessed the collision or video which may have captured the incident. Please contact Trooper First Class McCarthy #312 at (860) 534-1062.
