Renowned Orthopedic Surgeon Opens Offices in Litchfield and Fairfield Counties

Perennially named to Connecticut Magazine’s Best Doctors list, orthopedic surgeon Andrew Bazos, MD will be exclusively devoting his clinical time, talent and energies to the independent practice, SEP Orthopedics, that he founded in 1992 as a fellow in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases.  At SEP Orthopedics, Bazos will provide concierge-level care without extra costs or commitments to his patients from Sharon to New Milford to Danbury, Connecticut, NYC, and the greater Nuvance hospital system area.

A highly accomplished and caring physician, Dr. Bazos is skilled at getting patients back to the activities they love using both nonsurgical and state-of-the-art, minimally invasive surgical techniques. He will be offering patient hours at the Danbury and New Milford locations on a weekly basis.

Dr. Bazos, who has an eminent sports medicine and training resume including degrees from Harvard, Yale and Columbia, is a former Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at NYU-Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases.  Dr. Bazos also founded the nation’s premier event medical company, CrowdRx, through which he has provided years of service as the Medical Director for Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium, the US Tennis Open and serves as the Tournament Physician for the Men’s Big East Basketball Tournament every spring.  Dr. Bazos also directs the medical coverage for several prestigious national events including Burning Man and this year’s Super Bowl venue in Los Angeles.

Dr. Bazos’ NYC office allows CT commuters and NY weekenders alike to choose locations that fit their schedules, especially in this COVID-era that has seen many New Yorkers spend more time in CT.

“This independent practice," Bazos adds, "will allow me to make the best decisions for each individual patient without the constraints of a big group.  I will take an active role in the Nuvance hospital system and include referrals to any  outside providers as needed both within Nuvance and including Yale-New Haven Hospital, Hartford Hospital, NYU Langone, Columbia-Presbyterian, and Mt Sinai.  Even though we will offer concierge-level service, I will accept virtually all kinds of insurances in my inclusive practice.”

In addition, SEP Orthopedics will provide patients with the ability to TEXT or call the practice number (203-212-8000) …"that way patients can text for appointments, emergencies, send photos of a swollen knee or that twisted ankle.  Area school nurses and trainers will be able to address immediate needs and hopefully save trips to the ER or urgent care centers.  This keeps people at work and school,” adds Bazos.

Dr. Bazos will continue to specialize in sports medicine/arthroscopy, and knee and shoulder surgery along with all musculoskeletal disorders and conditions including carpal tunnel syndrome. "Although I treat virtually every orthopedic condition, I will provide preferred access when needed to appropriate specialists in the areas of joint replacement, complex hand and spine surgery both in Connecticut and New York.”

“I am committed to providing state-of-the-art orthopedic care for all my patients from elite athletes to weekend warriors -- everyone who is interested in getting back in the game."

Over the years, Dr. Bazos has provided care to a vast network of athletes, coaches and sports enthusiasts throughout the towns and hamlets of Litchfield, Fairfield, and Westchester and Putnam Counties and NYC. He has served athletes from every area high school including New Milford, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield and Newtown as well as private schools including Canterbury, Kent, The Frederick Gunn School and Hotchkiss as well as area professional sports organizations. “I have taken care of many area children over the years that now have grown and have their own kids. My new practice welcomes the whole family.”
