Both Town and School Budgets Pass for New Fairfield

Both the Town of New Fairfield and the New Fairfield School budgets passed at Saturday, May 5 vote.

According to the News Times:

"Voters approved a combined $54.9 million town and school budget Saturday, which is expected to increase taxes by 2.55 percent next year.
The $12.1 million town operating budget passed with 789 votes in favor of it and 615 votes against it. The $42.8 million for the schools passed with 836 voters in favor of the budget and 573 voting against. About $1.4 million in capital projects, $480,000 for the schools and $931,000 for the town, was also approved."
