According to an article in the News Times, "New Fairfield’s town-owned water system will likely become the latest in the area to be purchased by Aquarion Water Co., continuing a national trend of corporations taking over small or municipal water operations."
“We were faced with two choices, we could either staff up to do this correctly, or sell the system to professionals who know how to run the systems and have five systems already in New Fairfield,” Selectman Khris Hall said. “It was a pretty clear choice.”
