The Board of Selectmen is currently seeking applications for the Permanent Building Committee (PBC) from experienced architects, engineers and construction managers who are registered voters in the Town of New Fairfield .
The PBC is the Town’s sole building committee, and oversees and administers all building projects in excess of $250,000 authorized by town meeting and all maintenance, repair and alteration projects in excess of $25,000.
The PBC is responsible for preparing Requests for Proposals for architects and engineers, project managers and construction firms, interviewing the applicants and selecting qualified firms.
The Committee will also oversee the design and construction of the new schools through an Owner’s Project Manager. Currently, the Committee is overseeing the school construction projects approved at Town meeting last October.
There are two vacancies on the PBC, and it is critical for the Committee to be fully staffed as members begin reviewing design documents for the new High School and Consolidated Early Learning Academy.
