Connecticut woman arrested for providing false names and aggravated DWI

On March 18, 2018, the New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Tiela C. Taft, age 34, of Danbury, CT, for False Personation, a class B misdemeanor, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.

On March 28, 2018, at approximately 2:44 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2013 Honda Accord for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law on State Route 6 in the Town of Southeast.  During the interview of the operator a strong odor of both an alcoholic beverage, and marijuana was detected.  The operator, later identified as Taft, gave several names and birth dates despite being warned of the consequences.  Further investigation found approximately 3.92 grams of marijuana, and Taft’s blood alcohol content in excess of 0.18 percent.

Taft was arraigned before the Town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.  Taft is next scheduled to appear before the Court on April 10, 2018, at 1:30 p.m.
