At 7:30pm on May 17, the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department provided the following update:
There are several updates available following this week's storm:
- For all emergencies please contact 911. For routine calls or inquiries, you can reach the firehouse at this number: (860) - 354-9273.
- There are trees/wires down in many areas around town, with the majority of them on the South end. Please treat all downed wires as LIVE and remain at least 10 feet away from them at all times. Please avoid driving over downed wires.
- The Sherman School is CLOSED Friday, May 18th.
- The Sherman School is available as a shelter today and throughout this weekend. There will be showers available. The hours are 6:00am - 10:00pm.
- Eversource is in town and working to clear roads and remove hazards. This is the updated list of road closures as of 7:00pm on 5/17.
