New Fairfield Schools Change Entrance Procedures

To all our community members, please see the  letter from Dr. Rich Sanzo regarding a new entrance procedure for all after school events at the middle and high school beginning Monday, January 28, 2019.

January 25, 2019

Dear Members of the New Fairfield Public Schools Community, The safety and security of all members of the New Fairfield community is of the utmost importance. The New Fairfield Public Schools continually seeks ways to ensure the well-being of our students, staff, and community members while in our schools. As an enhancement to our currently existing security measures, we are implementing a new entrance procedure for all after-school events on the middle school and high school campus. Beginning on Monday, January 28, 2019, after-school access to the middle and high school will be restricted to the main entrance of the high school. All other exterior doors, including those used to enter the gym and cafeteria lobby, will be locked. Students, community members, and other visitors attending any event or program at the high school or middle school, including athletic events, will be directed to enter through the main doors of the high school. Upon entering, all individuals will be required to check-in with a security guard to verify his/her purpose for being in the building. Access through any other location will not be allowed.

We ask for your cooperation and patience as we implement this new system to ensure all after-school visitors to the middle school and high school are welcomed into a safe and secure environment.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Richard J. Sanzo, Ed.D. Director of Business and Operations New Fairfield Public Schools
We are a community of learners dedicated to academic, social, and personal excellence.
