THANKSGIVING WEEKEND TRAFFIC STATISTICS UPDATES

From the start of our enforcement period all the way through 9:00 a.m. on November 29th, The Connecticut State
Police had approximately 3,313 calls for service, with 144 motorist assists.

Troopers responded to approximately 177 accidents. Unfortunately, during this period we investigated one (1) fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Thursday night in the town of Plainfield.

Thus far, Troopers arrested 26 individuals for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Four of the aforementioned arrests stemmed from motor vehicle collisions that occurred on our roadways.

Troopers issued 121 citations for speeding and 12 citations for seatbelts, we issued 591 hazardous
moving violations (to include: unsafe lane change, following too closely, move over, etc).

These are reflective of the time period starting midnight on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 to 9:00 a.m. Friday November 29, 2019.
