New Fairfield FD Fights Structure Fire on Frisbee Street

Shortly before 3 p.m. yesterday (Oct. 9th) the New Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched for a possible structure fire on Frisbee Street. Police on scene reported smoke coming from garage.  NF VFD SQUAD 16 arrived on scene and on scene confirmed a fire in garage. Crews from SQUAD 16, Tanker 18, Engine 6 & Tanker 5 made an aggressive attack in keeping fire only in the garage area and not to living space of the home. There where no injuries on the scene. The Putnam Lake Fire Department assisted with an engine at water source at Ball Pond boat launch and a tanker for additional water if needed. Fire Marshall was on scene and is investigating the cause of the fire at this time. 

The American Red Cross also responded to assist the residents affected.
