New Fairfield man arrested for carrying a loaded gun on school grounds

Connecticut State Police on Wednesday arrested a 55 year old New Fairfield man for carrying a loaded gun on the grounds of the Consolidated school on Gilotti Road.

At about 1:15 pm the school resource officer was advised of a man smoking on the grounds and upon further investigation found 55 year old Richard Logo of New Fairfield who, according to police, was apparently under the influence of alcohol. He was also found to be carrying a loaded firearm.

The firearm was seized and he was taken into custody and brought to Danbury Hospital. His pistol permit was revoked.

Logo was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds and illegally carrying a firearm while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The school's administration was immediately advised of the incident and, according to police, at no time were students or staff in immediate danger

He was released on a $1,000 bond and will be in court next month.
