Fairfield County’s Community Foundation Opens Nonprofit Registration for Fairfield County’s Giving Day

Save The Date: Giving Day is slated for February 28, 2019

(Norwalk, CT) November 1st is the day for all nonprofits to start registering for Fairfield County’s ultimate day to “give where you live” as Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF) launches registration for Fairfield County’s Giving Day, the region’s biggest annual philanthropic event! Nonprofits can take advantage of this incredible opportunity by visiting FCGives.org for Fairfield County’s Giving Day 2019, which will be held on February 28, 2019.  Nonprofit organizations that register before December 1st have a chance to win an early bird $1,000 bonus grant.

Powered by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF), the 6th annual Fairfield County’s Giving Day is scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2019 and promises to be a day of philanthropy that makes you feel great about the community where you live and work. In just 24 hours, nonprofits from Fairfield County’s 23 cities and towns share their stories of impact, create awareness for their missions and raise much needed funding to support their causes.

Jennifer Kelley, Co-founder, Kids Helping Kids commented, “The support we’ve received through Fairfield County’s Giving Day over the years has been instrumental in Kids Helping Kids’ growth and success. When we first participated in 2015, we raised $1300 from 15 donors. The workshops, tools, and other resources provided by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation have been vital in our success, leading us to raise more than $100,000 over the last three years. These funds have provided critical support and laid the foundation for our current growth, allowing us to increase the number of kids in the community who are empowered by our programming. We are so grateful to FCCF for providing the platform for this success!”

Fairfield County’s Giving Day was first initiated in 2014 by the Community Foundation to empower the nonprofit community and provide anyone the ability to participate in local philanthropy. Since its inception, nearly $6 million has been raised for 746 nonprofits. In just 24-hours last year, Fairfield County’s Giving Day 2018 raised $1.4 million for 416 nonprofits with 16,593 total gifts from 13,137 individual donors.

“What I love most about Fairfield County’s Giving Day is that it demonstrates that you don’t have to be wealthy to make a difference in your community. A donation of as little as $10, when combined with others, can make a huge impact,” stated Juanita James, President and CEO, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. “We encourage all nonprofit organizations to register today and join us on February 28th for Giving Day 2019. When Fairfield County’s nonprofits prosper our entire community has the opportunity to thrive,” she continues.

Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is proud to partner with lead Giving Day sponsor, Bank of America, for the sixth year in a row. Bank of America’s dedication to this campaign and to the community of nonprofits in Fairfield County elevates Fairfield County’s Giving Day and powers its success. Hearst Connecticut Media Group’s commitment to the community is highlighted by their generosity as Giving Day’s media partner for the third consecutive year. Additional Giving Day media sponsors who have philanthropically helped to spread the significance of Giving Day in the past and will continue to do so include Moffly Media; News12 Connecticut; Star 99.9 and 95.9 The Fox.  Giving Day’s Town Square sponsors include Insperity and Webster Private Bank.

All nonprofit organizations throughout the region, large and small, are invited to join in this amazing opportunity to secure donations and increase awareness for their mission. Participants will learn specific steps to take and have access to an online library of resources, including a toolkit, instruction videos and more, to create stories for their Giving Day campaign and beyond. Nonprofit organizations receive training via in-person and online workshops to effectively reach new supporters on Giving Day.

Fairfield County’s Community Foundation makes it easy for nonprofits to participate. By registering for Giving Day 2019 now, nonprofits will be able to plan for their success with the vast resources offered through online courses and workshops held by the Community Foundation’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence and led by the Community Foundation’s team of experts including a special new series on digital marketing skills. Giving Day’s launch webinar is being held on November 5th. That’s when all the new and exciting improvements and features for Giving Day 2019 will be revealed.

The challenge is on! The excitement has begun!  Nonprofit organizations can register today at FCGives.org. Deadline for registration is February 1st.
