New Milford, Ct.-- Come meet representatives from the Connecticut Audubon Society at Litchfield Crossings Spring Event on April 29th from 11:00 to 3:00 on the Panera patio. “Get the Dirt “on the Society’s newest Center at Deer Pond Farms in Sherman Ct. The 385-acre property bequeathed by the Kathryn D. Winston Estate is now the largest sanctuary in the State of Connecticut.
Founded in 1898, the Society’s mission is to conserve the environment through education and advocacy focusing on the state’s bird population and their habitats.
Also, on-site will be “Get the Dirt” beneficiary, the CT Chapter of the Sierra Club, the nation’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. Members will be handing out information and meeting and greeting gardening and environmental enthusiasts.
