New Milford Adult Education has a few spots left in their Certified Nurse Assistant Course Starting October 16th! at Adult Ed

New Milford Adult Education has a few spots left in their Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Certification Program!  The class begins Wednesday, October 16th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at their facility located at New Milford High School at 388 Danbury Road, New Milford.

This course, taught by Denise Duggan, RN, is designed to provide knowledge and skills for students interested in the health care profession. Coursework includes 40 hours of classroom instruction in basic nursing skills on Mondays and Wednesdays, medical terminology, and basic anatomy and physiology.  In addition, students complete a MANDATORY 60-hour clinical experience at a local nursing home. The clinical portion will include some Saturdays so that a full shift at the nursing home is experienced.

The classroom and clinical experiences enable students to take the Connecticut State Nursing Assistant certification test at the end of the course. Students MUST complete all course work and clinical hours (100 hours total) in order to be eligible to take the state exam. The cost of the exam ($118.00) and transportation are the responsibility of the student. Books are included with the course fee. Please note: Students must be in good physical condition and have a social security number.
