Timeline Extended for Connecticut Residents to Sign Up for FREE Energy Efficiency Assessment

Prepare for Winter with Free Energy Efficiency Assessment

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) reminds residents to prepare for the cold months ahead by signing up for an energy efficiency assessment through Home Energy Solutions

Energy efficiency improvements are a great way to lower your energy bills, and now is a great time to sign up for an assessment, as residents who do so before March 31, 2021 may do so at no cost and can receive up to 100% off the cost of qualified insulation projects.

All Home Energy Solutions participants receive an energy efficiency assessment of their home in addition to on-the-spot energy improvements, such as air sealing, energy-efficient lighting, and water-saving devices worth an average of $1,000.The average Connecticut household saves $200 per year from the initial visit, and often more if additional measures are completed.

For a limited time, higher incentives are also available for windows and heat pumps, an energy-efficient technology to heat and cool your home.

To get started with Home Energy Solutions, click the link to sign up through your utility – Eversource or United Illuminating. There’s never been a better time to make your home more energy efficient!

Who is eligible for Home Energy Solutions?

All residential customers of Eversource, UI, CNG, and SCG are eligible for this program. If your family’s combined gross annual income is below the state’s 60 percent income median, you may qualify for the Home Energy Solutions - Income EligibleSM program, which provides no-cost assessments and energy upgrades for income-qualified homeowners and renters.

Any home or business that pays an Eversource or United Illuminating electricity or natural gas bill contributes to the energy efficiency fund that supports these programs and can take advantage of their investment by participating in Home Energy Solutions.
