New Milford Mayor Pete Bass Warns of Road Flooding, Housatonic River Over Flood Stage

New Milford Mayor Pete Bass warns of possible road flooding due to the Housatonic River reaching two feet over flood stage. Please read Bass's message to the community below.

With the rainfall currently and projected for tonight and tomorrow, we may experience the Housatonic River reaching approximately 2 feet over flood stage. This may cause some flooding on Youngsfield Road, Spring Street, and a portion of Rte 7 from the Brickhouse Pizza area to the Intersection of Rte 7 and Bridge Street."

The river may overreach its banks very early tomorrow morning. Our NMPD and 1st responders have been notified and a plan is in place in case of flooding. We have contacted the car dealers that may be impacted by the potential flooding on Rte 7 and offered Pettibone as an area to park their vehicles. If needed, I will provide an update.
